Popular questions women ask men

by Terry Marsh

Created on: April 08, 2009

Women ask questions of men for different reasons. Some women ask direct questions, seemingly designed to unravel the core of a man, while others simply ask questions to pass time or make conversation. The depth of a woman's questions will vary, depending upon her level of interest in a man or the level of her relationship with him.

Though my personal favorites are those questions that stop me in my tracks there are a number of popular questions that are asked so often by women that they have almost cliche'.

-Are you married? Women want to know the answer to this, whether they trust the guy to tell the truth or not.

-Where is this relationship going? This is the question leading up to the talk about marriage.

-Did you take out the garbage? This is when a guy knows he's married.

-Are you listening to me? This is usually asked when a guy is thinking about something other than marriage.

-Are you seeing someone else? She probably know the answer to this already.

In breaking down the most popular questions that women ask of men, I feel it only fair to categorically list questions based on different parameters. For instance, some questions are designed specifically not to generate a response, while other questions require immediate answers. Questions are lighter and less intimidating earlier in a relationship, but become more intense as a relationship matures.

It's important to note here, that regardless of how a man answers a woman's questions, what really matters is her interpretation of the answer.

1. Popular questions on a first date:

-Do you come here often? This certainly seems like a harmless question, but it can tell a woman a lot about a man. If he answers "yes", then women assume that he goes out a lot, which translates to him knowing many of the women there. If he answers "no", then she watches to see how many of the regulars there know him.

-You seem like such a nice guy, so why aren't you in a relationship? This is a classic test question. Women know that guys will often lie about being married or in a relationship, so this question pops up in various forms. Eventually, his answers will be contested wit, "But, I thought you said"

-Are you this nice to every girl you take out? This question is a thinly veiled attempt to determine if a guy dates a lot of women. The flattery breaks down a guy's barriers, and prompts a confession. Of course, "yes" means that he dates a lot, "no" means that he's really a jerk on his best behavior.
