There are numerous reasons to collect postcards. They are more then just a quick mail, that is easy to write a brief G'day' on. They contain a trove on information that is full of vibrant energy, and they are valuable sources of long lasting memories on a single card.
The following attributes can be found on a postcard:
Displays Location:
A postcard always displays the exact location you are currently visiting. Either on the stamp, or the picture face - so the receiver can guarantee that it is authentic, and you are not just boasting from a block away. It also gives the writing voice that far distance style. Acknowledging the location can make the reader a tad bit jealous that they are not actually there.
Is Short:
You've read a short poem, and then read a long one right? Which did you pay more attention to? Why, the short one of course! The postcard is the same, it is not a long winding letter that seems to exaggerate too many things, and drawl on for forever. It is short, and says exactly what the writer wants to say, in the shortest space available. The receiver can read the necessities without getting bored, their mind is in complete attention, and does not have a chance of dozing.
It Pretty:
The picture on the front is always most appealing. It is always clear, vibrant, and gives the receiver a good mood. It can display a joke that is as funny as it is appealing; or it can show the highlights of the location where the sender is staying making it available for the receiver to absorb just what the sender is experiencing.
Is Cheap:
Sending a postcard is always very cheap. Think, a letter may cost a little bit more, and have only messy scrawl on its boring paper face. However a postcard has valuable scrawl, as well as a huge picture on the back that is always highly entertaining. Don't think attraction doesn't matter - a pretty postcard will really get the recipient intrigued at just a glance.
Easy To Store:
The postcard is also very easy to store. It has a small rectangular form that can actually be stored very easily, and it can be placed in a box in order to be put in a very neat filing sequence. You can actually pack in a whole lot of postcards from the progressing years onwards. It all fits inside one box, is very easy to sort through, and will stay intact very well. The cardboard is hard and will not tear easily - in fact some people can store a postcard in near perfect condition for years after they have received it.
Can be laminated:
There are even cheap laminating option available for those who want to keep a postcard that will not tear, or become damaged, and can be kept in storage while remaining virtually dust free. The laminate also withdraws the attentions of certain household pets that love to nest under or around cardboard, and who love to make a meal out of the soft, chewy, cardboard.
