Poetry: Color my world

by Garrett Dempsey

Created on: April 07, 2009

Colours

Pink to make the boys wink
Navy to make steel float
Black & white squares on a chessboard
Grey to make a sombre day
With tupperware clouds all 'round.

Brown muck at a farmyard gate
Green leaves, Green grass, green fingers.
On the margin of a vale in winter,
Beige cattle under an auburn sky
Copper leaves and gold-flecked burgundy
gleam silently on the edge of a copse.

Copper pipes, crimson bats,
Froth-mouthed frogs at the emminence
Of a prehistoric swamp
A rainbow of colours
A cacophony of sound
Sights and sounds all 'round.
