WHAT OF THIS SOUL
What is in the soul that rages like the water beneath the waterfalls
That place inside all of us we try to quiet, and ignore
We are like a seedling adrift on the water of life
Without question we move along, ever moving with its flow
Safely away from the falls edge, we are without worry
Rested from the sleep of winter, refreshed by the spring rain, warmed by the summers sun, we feel invincible
Enjoying life daily, gently moving along giving and taking as we touch others
The obstacles in our way we have overcome, with little effort
Confronting ones self is more frightening then anything we face in life
We all know, our deepest fears, our passions, yet we heed not
Then for whatever reason you chose to call it, we find self at the falls edge
Ready at any moment to descend at the mercy of life's water
This point in time our soul refuses to be denied, flashes our life before us
Many never survive the descend, they are swallowed in the current
Battered and delusional life to them is no longer an option
Death seems the only way out, they have no strength for life
Those that remain adrift after a fall, are stronger
For they know themselves, and in knowing self-know know others
Capable of compassion, understanding and giving their love unconditionally

The day is what you make it.
