Remember when Mom would say...
"Let's go to the beach today"
We'd swim and laugh and run and play...
It felt just like a holiday.
Remember when your friend would say...
"let's skip school and go to the beach today"
We'd smoke and drink and flirt with boys...
too mature for childish toys.
Remember when the kids would say...
"please Mom, take us to the beach today"
We'd sit on towels and watch them play...
reliving with them... times now far away.
The phone rings, and I hear you say...
"the kids want Grandma to come with us, to the beach today"
So many memories...all so sweet...
Just another day...at the beach.

I want to spend a day at the beach,
building tall castles in the white sand.
I want to gather colorful seashells,
hold them
