Daily challenges, physical or mental illness can be shifted with a little sound advise and create good vibrations in your life. Music and Sound Therapy is not new, the knowledge that certain vibrations can shift mood and promote healing on both the physical and psychological level. We can understand this when we recognize that the musical scale is a natural consequence of mathematics and nature. As such music can be seen as a "universal language" because its vibrational physics and math is sensed by the brain.
The brain reacts to sounds in different ways. A simple test of how music and sound work is to compare how you respond to different sounds and vibrations. Soft calming music versus a happy upbeat song will ignite different reactions as will a heavy metal band or repetitive more "annoying" sound. The sounds are energy waves and our bodies respond to those waves, even if we do not actually "hear" the sound. Those who are challenged with hearing loss can still dance to a song because they can feel the vibrations.
One does not have to be a musician in order to reap the benefits of music in every day life. Music connects to our body, mind and spirit and can actually ease pain, help with learning and social situations as well as strengthen us at every level of our being. Music Therapy has proven beneficial in assisting those suffering from depression, anxiety, stress, grief, and other mental health challenges. Music has been utilized to soothe sick babies (who hasnt softly sung to their cranky baby and watched them relax in your arms and drift to sleep?) , reduce chronic pain and ease fears. Muscles are relaxed, tensions drift into the melody and pain is forgotten. Research has found that listen to music does effect the brain and mood. Classical music is said to revitalize old brain cells and lift depression while rock and roll will shift a bad mood. Jazz is thought to reduce chronic pain.
Used in every day living, Music will provide the listener with an overall calming that can in turn bring clarity to daily situations and decision making. Listing to one's favorite song for instance brings an instant smile. As the tune plays we hum or sing along and find that we are relaxed in our chair or up and dancing moving the vibrational energy through our entire body. Our feelings and emotions are expressed safely through lyrics and rhythms.
You do not have to be ill or sad to benefit from music.
Music of nearly any kind can enhance health and often gets us moving. Walking, dancing, exercising, even cleaning the house to music makes those tasks enjoyable.
