Daily traditions that keep your life in balance

Keep you life in balance by making a mental re-adjustment the first thing you do each day. Do you wake with a feeling of dread? I have often heard friends and co-workers tell how difficult it was to get out of bed. They commiserate about how often they hit "snooze" before dragging themselves out of bed. We all know that momentary "Oh, no - not another work day", that can hit us as we wake.

Become conscious of what your first though of the day is, because it is at that moment that the tone for the day is set. So, we must banish negativity, otherwise this overpowering emotion will set us off balance.

It is a simple act of our will to replace the negative with 'I will', and 'I am happy to face a new day', attitude. This will set us squarely on our mental feet. Then, with a desire to face the day and a vision of a pleasant day we will generate all the energy needed to accomplish all those tasks that lie before us. Conversely, we will be defeated in advance by negativity.

Once we have balanced our mental process then we can put our actual feet on the floor and begin the preparations for the day.

Those preparations should be routine and include good health habits - begin with grooming that will make us feel and look good. From the dressing room head to the kitchen for sufficient protein, carbohydrates and fluids to keep our bodies at peak performance. Also, pack a nutritious lunch so that you are not tempted by all the junk available everywhere you go in your day. These routines must be scheduled in so that they are not skipped or skimped on because of lack of time.

Once we have taken care of our physical needs check to make sure we have continued with our positive attitude. Don't become rushed, frustrated and annoyed. We want to arrive at our day's tasks wherever it is that we earn our living with a relaxed well tuned mind - not full of anxiety but calm and ready to concentrate on whatever is required of us.

Part of our mental re-adjustment each day must be towards those people we encounter. We can go either way - dislike others and so experience annoyance and energy lost to negative emotions. But if we approach each person with grace and patience we will operate in a balanced productive way.

Lastly, remember, we can do our best as the person we are at this point in time - we are not superman or superwoman. We need others to help us. We will have a balanced life is we also treat others with that same belief that, just as we are doing the best we can do at any given moment, so are those around us - offer help when needed.

If we keep our attitude and habits disciplined to the positive we will find balance in life.
