Poetry: A gentle touch

by Jessica Shayne

Created on: April 07, 2009

A gentle palm aside her face

Her mothers' safe and warm embrace

Satin garb against the skin

An encouraging tap upon her chin

A pat on the back for a job well done

Guiding words of learned wisdom

Healing hands on wounded knees

Fingers dance across piano keys

Hair pushed back from teary eyes

A shoulder during troubled times

A glance so slight just barely there

A smile, a kiss, a life to share

Commitment made on bended knee

A seaside kiss in a gentle breeze

Passion so great it made her cry

A song to the little life inside

Family gathered with tears of joy

Welcomed to the world, her little boy
