Hell Has A Lovely View
A picture window frames the world
of all my eyes behold,
The ugliness, and violence
of people cruel and cold.
Defiling everything in sight
without a single care,
A pain, a pain to heart and mind
and more than I can bare.
What place is this I've come to know
wherein I captive dwell,
To see, and hear, and feel too much
perhaps a private hell.
Am I alone, how can it be
this place from which I see,
Of beauty there but out of reach
and I, I am not free.
