You promised me the keys
And I believed
I left my home and all that I've known
I left forever, connected now only by phone
Gave up all that I had and all that I made
For the fleeting hope that has now begun to fade
You've grown distant, cold and then colder
I must flee now before we grow older
Before the children and the home and the bills
Tie us to each other and the love lost kills . . .
