My silver ghost is but a reflection of my loss,
I turn to find you, kiss your face and my heart falls,
the essence of smoke, the lost gaze away,
says everything I don't want to know,
you've locked me out of your heart.

I have the answer, these flat daisies I collect,
twining them in a chain of pain that lessens each day.
The gold centers speak to my soul,
telling me twice you actually saw me as if I were real
but now I have only this metal heart shell
.
in which I place daisies to chain the lock on my heart.
They have no smell, no taste, no hidden spell,
only the remembrance of a hand sliding down my back,
my hair brushed away from my face,
the inhalation of your hunger for my taste.

I'm merely chaining life to life like we paired,
body to body without snare,
but only the future will break the lock on your heart,
and let me taste of love once again,
for love makes our spirits whole.
