Monogamy: Not A Death Sentence

The word monogamy seems to be a scary word to many. People come up with all types of reason monogamy is not for them. The main reason is people claim because there is so many people in this world it no way you can just commit to one. Somehow, you are hindering yourself from something. I personally feel monogamy is a beautiful thing when enter into with the right person. I personally have been in a very committed relationship for many years and love my husband dearly. I cannot even imagine myself opening up to anyone else as I have him. The beauty of true love is one person is enough and you are never short change when you decide to be in a one on one relationship.

The truth of the matter I find people who cheat or not even so much cheat because there is a lot of couples who have an open agreement to be able to deal with others as a way to overindulge in desires. There is no way a person can be in multiple relationships and getting the true fulfillment out of the relationships, you are supposing to. See for the most part monogamy is about keeping yourself for that one person you have committed to. Which mean emotionally, sexually, physically and spiritually. Not necessary in this order but these are key factors you have to a good relationship. The thing about it is a person who can not committed to monogamy is not necessary dissatisfied with the other partner they are with but they are mislead and the word put fear of true togetherness for a couple. This scares people especially since now day casual sex, non-commitment and over indulging is the way to live life.

I have often wondered how a person can just have casual not committed sex with someone who does really care about you after the moment can be fulfilling. To me that would be the most horrible feeling you can have. Unfortunately, today society has made it seem like this is the lifestyle to live and we all should embark on this lifestyle to really get the most out life. Relationship of substance is a thing of the past. When in actuality as you grow older and wiser you will realize there is nothing more beautiful than being in a committed relationship.

The beauty of sharing and opening your self up to someone who is doing the same is the best feeling you can get. Knowing that there is someone who truly loves you and appreciate your whole self is a true fulfillment. Also, if you are a spiritual person you know that being a committed relationship is the way we are suppose to live. I am not going to get into the religious aspect but if you do practice a religion, you already know that this is the way to live. Not to mention I did not even touch on the fact of the many disease that are out there. I think people have to take it back to the essence of two people being in a committed relationship with only each other. See monogamy is not a death sentence but rather a fulfilling experience.
