Poetry: Anything is possible

by Jolene Belmain

Created on: April 06, 2009   Last Updated: March 16, 2011

They told me I'd never walk again,

I showed them they were wrong.

Just like a bird who cannot sing

that learns to play his song.

Anything is possible,

don't listen to the hype.

Just try your best to succeed

and show them you were right.

If they say you cannot do it,

don't lay down, get up and fight.

Do the best that you can,

and you will see the light.

So many people wake up blind,

yet never live in dark.

They do their best with what they have,

and turn their life into a work of art.

Disability is a word,

that affects us only if we let it.

Remember anything is possible

if you hold your head high, and never, ever quit.
