Truth is a tricky concept. As the master explained to his pupil, "Many of the truths we cling too depend on our point of view." If truth is dependent on perspective, it certainly ruins the simple explanation more would crave. Still I believe tat truth exists, but it is up to the individual to create their own point of view and definition for truth. For myself I choose to keep things simple, I accept only factual honesty as truth. This of course is one of the things that makes me hard to deal with.

My definition of truth is the simplest and probably the most naive. It is difficult to find and quite uncompromising in its standard. Due to these difficult parameters though, I feel I can trust the truths I've accepted. Unfortunately though sometimes they are hard truths to uncover and even harder to live with. I am the person that would rather live with a terrible truth then a comforting lie. I treat others with the same sentiment which again make me difficult to have around sometimes.

To find truth I look at action, the actions of people. What people do, not what they say, is the best indicator of truth. Words are too malleable, too easily duplicitous. Actions on the other hand do not lie. The smaller the action often reveals the bigger truth. Idiosyncrasies, mannerisms and the moment when we think no one is paying attention are when people are the most truthful, when no edifice or persona is called for. Truth is in the details as it were.

As far as the truth of grandiose concepts such as our place in the universe, the existence of God, the meaning of life and son on, I am sure there is a truth for all of them, but we will probably never know it. The best humanity can attain in these subjects are hypotheses, theories and ideas. These to me are not truths. An example of why would be that the world had believed certain truths of the universe based on Newton's theories and ideas. This of course was all changed when Einstein had his theory of General Relativity proved.

So it is in the world around me that I seek truth. It is in people and what they do, not what they say they will do. Others may find it in math, science, art, relationships and the like. I find truth in actions and behavior, that is where it exists for me. From that I try to make sense of this world and the people living in it, but that too is a much bigger truth then I will probably ever be able to discover.
