Trust me, this story is about the drug called ritalin. Now here's a story worth reading. When I was 17 years old, I wanting nothing more than to be a Navy SEAL. I worked out and could even hold my breah for over 5 minutes. I was always talking and communicating with the Navy recruiter on my school activities. I left high school so I could work full time and finish my schooling at night. I was going for my diploma. When the end of the school year came I was worried because I wasn't finished with my book report. The teachers and people running the night classes promised me that all of my work would be saved for next year, after the summer ended. So I stayed tuned and positive all summer.
When I went back after the summers end, I went in and they told me the worst. "We're sorry but we don't have any of the scores from last year." "Do what?", I said with bulging eyes. They had somehow lost all records of my work from 3 months before. Now how crazy is that? Needless to say, I left there very upset. Went straight to the Navy recruiters' office and told him what had happened. That was just to find out that the recruiter I had been speaking with for the past year had already been shipped off somewhere else and this new guy said, "alright let's see, have a seat". I told him what happened and he said that I didn't need my diploma to get into the Navy. I could just go in and then get my GED within the military. Then you can go off to BUDS, that's Seal training. And that's if you can even make it through SEAL training, many people fail at this attempt. But anyways, I was happy. I told him that I would be in the next week after I told my family and friends to sign up. He shook my hand and told me what days he would be into work the following week.
Now here's the crazy part. After I told everyone what I was going to do, and spent all week making my last thoughts and dicissions on going into the military, I went in to see him that very next week. I went in, he wasn't busy, he remembered me and we sat down. He started typing away at his computer. Asking me all kinds of questions and getting me all psyched about the Navy. He then asked, "have you ever taken any hard drugs, medications?". I was shaking my head and saying "no". Then he said "ritalin?" "Yeah, I've taken ritalin when I was younger in school. "Oh no", he said. "If you've ever taken ritalin then you could never be a Navy SEAL. They wouldn't even let you be a cook". My mouth dropped with yet another disappointing moment
