Leaving my past behind
Hoping only for love to find
Years of being abused
Leaves me weary and confused
Hope comes from my past
When I realize that my past won't last
The memory of my pain
Leaves me badly ashamed
The scars and wounds I wear
Lets me know that nobody cared
I sit down and wonder
Who should I blame for a life full of thunder
Why is my rain
Always accompanied by pain
I wish my past would go away
So I can live for today
