Poetry: My painful past

by Shayla Clark

Created on: April 06, 2009

Leaving my past behind

Hoping only for love to find

Years of being abused

Leaves me weary and confused

Hope comes from my past

When I realize that my past won't last

The memory of my pain

Leaves me badly ashamed

The scars and wounds I wear

Lets me know that nobody cared

I sit down and wonder

Who should I blame for a life full of thunder

Why is my rain

Always accompanied by pain

I wish my past would go away

So I can live for today
