The idea of what a "perfect wife" is supposed to be varies in each relationship. Everyone is different so if you are truly compatible with your partner, it isn't an impossible feat to achieve. Wives have their own expectations of what a perfect wife should be, as do husbands. It's important to know each other's expectations. In the generation of "Leave It To Beaver", June Cleaver was the "perfect wife" for her husband Ward. It is obvious because in each episode, they are happy. It worked for them.
In today's society, every household is different. Sometimes the wife works outside the home and/or goes to college, while the husband works too. It becomes very difficult to maintain a clean, tidy home, like June Cleaver did. However, the husband and wife may still be happy, even if their home doesn't look like the Cleavers'. The wife may do many other things that her husband appreciates, such as make him coffee each morning, followed by a brief intimate moment or two, before sending him off to work. Maybe when he comes home from work, he is delighted to find dinner waiting and a babysitter lined up for the children. Date night can be an important element of a happy marriage because it gives the couple a chance for focusing on each other's needs, with no interruptions. If you happen to be an older woman, with a younger man, this is especially true. My sweetheart is eleven years younger than I, so his expectations of a good wife are based more on intimacy and romance being top priority. Being a nurturing mother and a good cook are next on his list, then keeping the house clean and tidy. But I have greater expectations for myself, I want to be great at all of those tasks, and more. I want to be like June Cleaver, but I also feel the perfect wife should have a wild, fun, and sensual side too!
Being a perfect wife to your husband does require a lot of time and effort. If your husband makes you feel appreciated for all the things you do, then it will give you joy to perform all the duties expected of you. If you are lucky enough to stay home with your children when they are small, while your husband works outside the home, your house may still be a little messy. But at least you can invest the time necessary to perfect your skills.
It takes discipline and good time management skills to be the perfect wife. To me, being the perfect wife means that I make sure to fit in time for intimacy because every wife deserves to feel sexy and loved, while taking care of everyone else's needs too. This is including but not limited to: dishes, laundry, sweeping, mopping, vaccuuming, and to remain happy and loving while teaching my two-year old daughter all day, every day. Being the perfect wife usually means long hours, but if your home is happy and peaceful, it makes it all worthwhile.
