What not to do at an interview
Interviews can be so interesting when one master the acts. I have discovered that little mistakes has caused a lot of people their interviews. Recently my group organized a mock interview for job seekers. At the end of the mock interview process I came up with these findings. They may seem unimportant but don't take them lightly they could be the stumbling stone or should I say pebble during interview process.
Resume
Never submit a rumpled or dirty resume they speak so much about you. If your resume is rough then the panelist are likely to assume you are a rough person. Always ensure you give out a resume with no typographical error, a typographical error shows that you don't pay attention to details. You also need to note that you cannot depend on your resume to sell you, be ready to sell yourself.
Etiquettes
If you have an intention of taking a job never go late for an interview it show how unserious you are about taking the job. Always get to the venue fifteen minutes before the time of the interview. When you get to the interview venue do not be nasty to the receptionist, your interview may have started the moment you enter the reception hall. So be courteous and responsive to everyone present. Also remember not to present yourself as a talk-a-tive in the reception hall or waiting room, someone might be watching you.
Do not go for an interview in a bright coloured suit. This gives the panelist a clue as to your ability to combine colour and if you are an out going person. Men should always be in suit for an interview, however the suit should be dark coloured (Navy Blue or Black) also do not wear a bright coloured inner shirt. Ladies are allowed to use bright coloured shirts however. The use of heavy perfume or cologne shows that you are loud person it is therefore better to go without any perfume or with perfume that is not too strong.
During the Interview Process
When you get before the interview panel do not sit down until you are told to do so. And when you are sitted do not slouch, make sure you sit upright. If there is need to shake don't shake "limply" give the interviewer a firm hand shake. On no condition should you call your interviewer by his or her first name always remember to use Mr., Mrs. Or Miss or Ms. Don't flirt with the interviewer.
During the interview process, do not switch on your phone; ensure to switch it completely switched off. Switching on your phone shows your disregard for the interview panel or your interviewer
