How many times have you planned a romantic day or evening to find yourself alone? Although your love might not be far away he or she is not to be found. Instead this dead human that is now entranced is either glued to the television, radio or sitting somewhere in a bleacher waving like an Indian.

Your calendar can't keep track of every ball that is bounced, hit or thrown but you do know your nice new lingerie or jock strap is lying now in a drawer getting older. It was your birthday or anniversary. But, did they forget or ignore? Does it really matter what you think? When did the 40-yard dash enter and leave you on the sideline. When did a homerun stop being made in the bedroom? I think it is now called a foul.

You could go on strike but after the game you will forget and they will be happy to make it all up. After all it is in their time, not yours. I recently read where a mom induced labor so her husband could attend a game. Something is wrong with this picture!

Life is here for a short time and romantic moments may make or break who is holding your hand at the end. I can assure you it won't be the ball player you idolize. They will have their millions and any hand they wish to buy to hold.

Maybe if you can tear yourself away before the game, you could stop by the grocery and buy one cheap red rose to hand to your second love. Splurge; Why not buy two? Then you can give the last one at the end of the game with a thank you.

This is one skirmish no one wins except the one's playing the game.
