The psychic field is filled with a lot of honest and talented people many of whom do their best to provide as accurate as possible, information that will help people with their daily lives. It is also a field that is filled with fraudulent people whose only interest is to make a quick buck. Quite often misinformation leads people astray, resulting in major disappointments when things do not go the way they were initially perceived. These disappointing results often lead to brandishing all psychics as frauds or opportunists. It is therefore important to determine what to look for in a competent reader.
Most good psychics do not advertise. They are almost invisible; sometimes they have a very small office sign or a shabby office. However, a lot of the better psychics are found by referrals rather than by advertisements. When acting on a referral, always call the psychic first. Listen to the voice on the phone and try to develop a gut feeling from the voice you hear. Determine from that voice if you would feel comfortable in the presence of the person behind the voice.
If you get a positive feeling based on the manner of speech of the person then, having a reading done would be a worthwhile experience. However if you feel hesitant after speaking with the person then, trust your gut feeling and do not go for the reading. Even though this person would be highly recommended by others, if your gut feeling is negative, you are not going to have a meaningful experience with this reader. The best thing to do under these circumstances is to seek another reader, one whom you feel right about and is willing to invest the time, the effort and of course the money.
Having found the reader, a couple of things would help to determine the reader's competence. A genuine reader would be able to give a reading in any surrounding. Such a reader is not dependent on props such as candles or crystal balls and the likes of such gimmicks. He or she should be able to do a reading anywhere and anytime that a reading opportunity presents itself. The reader must also be willing to answer questions on the information that has flowed from the reading. A characteristic of a good reader is his or her willingness to add insight to information received from the reading.
A genuine reader will not edit information read about a person but will let these insights stand on its own merit. It is his or her responsibility to be honest at all times and if no information is flowing about the person being read, the reader should say so and not resort to fabricating vague statements. A good reader never asks for personal information about the person being read. Anyone having a reading done should be cautious of this, least this information be used for manipulation purposes.
Genuine psychics never add personal opinions on a reading. They do not analyze the information read instead; this information is always given in an unedited manner. During a reading the reader should not be interrupted by phone calls, nor should the person being read. There should not be anyone else in the room conducting any other activity nor should anyone be allowed to enter the room while the reading is being conducted. If one desires to take notes on the actual reading, a professional reader almost never objects to that.
Like everything else that money is paid for, good customer service is the cornerstone of professionalism. If you do not get good customer service then question yourself if your visit to the psychic was worth it and if you do not sight any of the characteristics mentioned above, you would be more than able to determine if the psychic was genuine or not.
