An infant can never get enough attention to be spoiled so hold your baby and soothe your baby to build that trust and relationship. You are both learning about each other and you can only build a strong bond from day one only once. Who cares if you lose a little bit more sleep or your baby wakes up once in the middle of the night? Your baby wants to please you and himself so will pick up on your cues the proper way to soothe himself to sleep. You only get one shot to form a wonderful bond with your baby and teach him that you can be trusted so don't ruin it.
