Poetry: Handle with care

by Danette M. Scott

Poetry: Handle with care

Handle with care your children dear

Teach them through example and not fear

Train them to love with a gentle hand

Do not strike flesh during a reprimand

For children are a precious commodity

They must live in the adult sense of reality

Protect them with all of your might

For one day, they will be the sayers of wrong and right

If you care what is to become of this world you see

Then you must care about the children. the heirs of humanity

Leave them something behind to live on

Before God's green wonders are gone
