Some say 40 is the new 30. The truth is that whether 40 or 80, today's older woman doesn't pine for her twenty-something days; she's proud to achieve a new age with its new fabulous possibilities. She uses her experience and her new position in life to evolve into her best self and to age gracefully and beautifully. She's more sure of who she is, more certain of her choices, and more aware of how to exude her spirit and confidence. Consider these qualities of stunning wise women and become one of these older and wiser women yourself.
1. Have more confidence now than ever. You've made your mistakes and you've achieved success; you know just what you're doing. Be proud of what you've learned and how it has made you who you are. When obstacles are put in your way, be confident that your age is a benefit, not a hindrance. You've been through difficult situations before and they've made you stronger than ever.
2. Consider your priorities. Don't let your work - or your family - consume your life. If your professional life is asking too much of you, find a way to communicate the changes you need. If your family is depending on you too much, make sure they understand that you need to take care of yourself as well.
3. Remember that nutrition and exercise habits can be a fountain of youth. You need energy and stamina to get through your busy life, and eating the right foods and exercising will make sure that you have what it takes. A healthy lifestyle will help keep your mind clear and your body beautiful. You'll be more ready to tackle the challenges in your daily life - and your skin and figure will thank you, too.
4. Speak your mind. You did not get to where you are today by being a shrinking violet. Keep your voice loud and strong; make a stand for what you believe in, and stick up for others who do not have an advocate. You've gained an understanding of the world and other people that younger women may not yet have; use it.
5. Know the clothes and accessories that work for your look. You are aware that the image you present to the world plays a role in defining who you are. Keep your body type and lifestyle in mind when you are constructing your personal look. Trends come and go, a few pieces to stay current can add some flair to your wardrobe every season, but stay true to the colors, cuts, and designers that help you communicate who you are.
