Poetry: Dying
I couldn't believe what I was was hearing
The words struck like lightening bolts
My mind they begin searing
While the soul revolts
What is this thing they call death?
Eyes growing dim as I draw my last breath?
Is it forever dark or a tunnel to light?
Victory or defeat against the night?
What is this thing called death?
Should I fight against it with all my might?
Is it just a last heartbeat or breath?
Will angels from heaven take me home in flight?
The unknown scares me to be sure.
Without faith how can one endure?
Believe or believe you not
Whether God exists or the heaven where he has wrought
I am not ready for the day I leave this life
No matter what happiness or strife
Only faith can console me
Only faith can to him join me

Like a book filled with chapters
You think will never end
Then the day will come
When death will
