Anyone who is mature (at any age) knows that you just can't make people THINK you are smart. You can't fake being smart. Using big words, especially if you are not entirely familiar with the words yourself, or have no clue as to their meaning or usage, will surely tell people that you are really dumb!

Dressing as though you are smart doesn't quite get it, either. How many well dressed folks do you know that haven't got the sense to come in out of the rain?

Even if you are moderately intelligent you can appear to be smart. This is done by speaking on subjects in which you are completely knowledgeable. It is done by asking questions of those who know more on a subject than you. It is done by remaining silent when you just don't have a clue.

Being really smart doesn't necessarily mean having a college degree. It means you have a good command of the English language, you comprehend what you read, you are outgoing enough to become involved in conversation/debates in which you not only contribute something, but that you also learn something.

Trust me, wearing eye glasses vs. wearing contact lenses will not help in the least.
