We were bound by our golden rings
Before God and friends and family
My heart was yours and yours was mine
Growing old together is what was in my mind
How was I to know we didn't share the same dream ?
Until the day you got sick and I didn't understand why
Until the day I discovered everything about us was a lie
Until the day the doctor said you had full blown Aids
On that day I discovered you were gay
You never said sorry though I shed many tears
How did I miss the signs these past several years ?
Cloaked in your secrets, deceit, and your lies
No remorse for the jeopardy you put on my life
I lived up to my vows and took care of you at home
Lived through the anger and fear until God called you home
I have tried to move through forgiveness even on this very day
But the memories of lies and hurt still never go away

I had given up believing
in a Mister Right for me
I faced a lonely destiny
But then you
