Writing a Country Song

I wanted to write
A country song
But my background
Is totally wrong

For, you see,
I don't have a mutt
Will you tell me then
To kiss your *?

Oops, I guess
I can't say that
Well, ok,
But, I do have a cat
(Is that close?)

Now, I don't have
A pick-up truck
Now, please don't say
That you don't give a *

Oops, I guess
That's going too far
Well, ok,
But, I drive a sports car
(Come on, they both have motors...)

I don't have
Overalls to stitch
I didn't just hear you
Call me a *?

I don't think
That's very fair
I wear designer jeans
Everywhere
(It is still denim, after all...)

I'm not from the hills
Though I've traveled a bit
Now please don't say
That you don't give a *

I do think
That's going over the top
So, I think
That I will just stop
(In other words, forget it...)

I guess I can't write
A good country song
For all that I've said
Has been just plain wrong
