Poetry is more than a poet's words,
For it jumps for joy in a woman's womb,
And it always delivers more than the admission price.
Poetry can remain a mystery,
Especially if you let it collect dust,
Still, poetry is more than a mating call,
For it has been known to capture every human emotion,
So let the hummingbirds pronounce the poet's eternal words,
And invite Heaven to bless them.
Poetry is always more than one person's story,
For it has carried us from Genesis through the present,
And poetry has survived all human iniquities,
Regardless of the perpetrators involved.
Poetry can cleanse the soul,
Especially if the impurities of life need to be removed;
And the moon often rejoices because the sun has given way to the night,
To allow one's poetic love time to evolve.
