"A Brief Flight"

Sometimes I feel like a raindrop, glistening silver
changed shapes, never a constant
losing mass, gaining water

The essence of life
streaking through the sky
unaware of the inevitable
death which awaits

As it sparkles defying description
in the summer sky
the fiery god light projects
into the raindrop
reflecting as it falls

Life gains color
blue love red hate
green joy yellow anger

One shining moment in the air
life is as it should be
all feeling comes in a rainbow
like a fan of mist

Kaleidoscopes of color bursts
in a psychedelic dream
in the morning left with
nothing but a gleam
in my minds eye
I can't recall
in the glowing twilight
what happened at all

Ever changing once again
left with a memory of where I've been
I'm a raindrop falling with a foolish grin
in the game of life you have to play to win

When the mist fades and the rainbows die
we all return to our place in the sky
'cause every gray cloud has a silver raindrop
burning bright as it streaks towards
its future and end
