Dedication: A Swimmer's Life
I got up this morning, about half-past five,
Sleepy and unwilling, feeling barely alive.
Driving through the darkness, to practice at the pool,
I must train two hours before I go to school.
Through the day I study hard in each and every class,
I am a scholastic achiever and work for As to pass.
Home, meals and homework, I plan them carefully,
Time is very precious, I don't have much that's free.
Back to the pool to practice with my friends.
We push each other hard, the way to achieve our ends.
We have two more hours, stretching, weights, and sets,
Maybe a little running and that's as tough as it gets.
Dinner, homework, bed; the day is nearly done
Know that I do this because I think it's fun.
I am pursuing goals in everything I do
The discipline, the hard work, are waiting for you, too.
I am a swimmer, each and every day.
I will reach my goals-nothing stands in my way.
I've dedicated years to get to where I am,
I reach ever higher-knowing that I can.
I have high expectations, my parents have them too
We believe in me and the goals I pursue.
I got up this morning, about half-past five,
Sleepy and unwilling, feeling barely alive.

Summer Time Fun
You step into the water
In your little skinny suit
You don't have a great tan
Yet you don't give a hoot
You

I learned to swim when I was five
Jumped in the deep end with my best friend
Our eyes opened to our new watery underworld

A Serendipitous Affair
The wind swept, raging Sea, cast an excitement in the Air
So invigorating, to feel the warm spray
There is a silence here
It blocks out everything
Except the beating of my heart.
I push the water past me.
I feel as a mermaid
