Difficult people are a constant blight
They scoff with their ignorant disdain
Ignore difficult people with all of your might
Or your optimistic ideals will be slain
Make sure that you do not become one
Stick to trying please people rather than offend
Never try to squelch another person's fun
Indeed just try to always act like a friend
Stained by their aura of imperfection
The ornery and difficult blemish my soul
When choosing sides, theirs is not my selection
Those that are difficult dwell in a bottomless hole
Casting disparaging words at every turn
Trying to denigrate those that are nice
In due time they will finally learn
That friendship and loyalty come at a price
When your presence other people cannot tolerate
It becomes high time to take a moment's pause
Your infectious personality you need to moderate
Stop exposing other's for what you consider flaws
Difficult people can make your day rotten
Ruining all of your happy thoughts
Some people's moods are ill-begotten
Wonder what they see in those ink blots
Makes no sense to argue right or wrong
Difficult people have already made up their mind
You can disagree or decide to just go along
These are parts of the ties that bind
Impose not upon yourself too much
But on other's you can so rarely count
Takes a little while to learn as such
Do not let inner tensions mount
Many people find it easier
To spend their days being difficult
When the winds of friendship are breezier
Do not give in to thoughts of tumult
Wear your own true colours on your sleeve
Hope beyond hope that others do the same
In the kindness of others you must believe
Even if you always lose that game
Life certainly will be full of surprises
Adhere to the narrow and straight
Destiny dons a multitude of disguises
Do not leave any chances to fate
Wear your heart upon your sleeve
Give life all that you have got
Do not ever be afraid to believe
Learn from what you have been taught
Let our lessons be your formative guide
But please follow your intended path
Leave all your heartstrings open wide
And you shall never feel the ire of wrath
Strive for a life with no personal regrets
And learn from all your mistakes
In life, you will have no safety nets
To protect you from life's rippling wakes
My sincerest hope is that when the day is done
There is a smile upon your pretty little face
And you will know that you did your fair share
To make your portion of the world a better place
Leave behind your footprints of good intentions
For others to proudly decide to follow
And please remember the cycle of life
That you reap that which you sow
Try not to be burdened by those
Whose life mission is to complain
True colour often shows
Be kind and never have to explain
Act each day with the utmost of pride
As if being watched by mom's approving eyes
Difficult people just cannot compromise or abide
Therein is where the difficulty truly lies
Conduct yourself so that people will lend you trust
Not recoil in fear whenever you draw near
Inside of happiness, your personality you should thrust
Drive yourself forward using the proper gear

Difficult people
Pushing and shoving and trying to get past;
Thinking too slow and moving too fast.

who'll take away your sense of peace and joy

I may be a perfectionist,

perhaps a bit of narcissist,
but, am I someone to avoid?
