Boiling point reached a couple of stressors ago
Seems as though you're in a self-induced prison
Nowhere to turn to, nowhere to run and hide
From your overwhelmed exile you have not yet risen
You need to take the time to realize the end may be in sight
Sometime soon, you'll return to an even keel
When you feel as though life has thrown too much your way
Understand that time will eventually help you to heal
Tired, tattered, and beaten black and blue
Controller of your destiny, your fate you have helmed
Crestfallen, you rise up above and persevere
Nevertheless, you have become overwhelmed
Seems as though you are always on duty
Slaving time and a half for the boss
It begins to crush any of your remaining spirit
You spin out of control in a constant state of loss
When enough is enough, you need to stand tall
Do not succumb to pressure, stare it down
Look around at the reasons for your happiness
The jewels that lie about your crown
In the game of life, you have just come to bat
Life throws you the odd curveball that you miss
Stand up tall and be accounted for
Other times you wake up to find a fleeting kiss
Deep within a world of dastardly deeds
Resultant of thoughts rapacious, and hatred vile
Stems the faint yet flickering hope
Lying hidden amidst a baby's illuminating smile
Paying it forward, and extending a conciliatory hand
Needs be done sincerely and graciously
Myriads of opposing thoughts and beliefs
Nary a scattered mind around acting sagaciously
Rest assured good triumphs over evil
But sadly, that isn't always the case
Sometimes nefarious things occur
With bad guys victorious in the chase
What is it about happiness and purity
And a civility towards all mankind
That seems so eerily perplexing
Rendering people obliviously blind
Let us commit to positive changes
We will achieve this person by person
If we do not adhere to societal needs
I fear this grave situation may only worsen
Yearning for leadership that is steadfast
Is something desired by the next generation?
What they wish to lack in their rearing
Is this loathsome dread of consternation?
Raise your young optimistically
Negativity they should see but scarce traces
Raise them to openly display honour
And to observe proper social graces
One man cannot change the world
But he can contribute his fair share
To aid in the remedy of the human race
Because of this, for our children we need to care
Things will always happen that will leave you sour
Being overwhelmed certainly is not an easy task
When it seems as though you are mired in a cold shower
Do not pity me, but please make certain to ask
Being overwhelmed happens to us all
Seems to knock you staggering to the floor
That feeling is no stranger to most
Lose the odd battle, but always win the war

Zeroed.
The dark wave rolls slowly over me,
Plummeting me way and far too deep.
My eyes shut tight, I see mosaic
But the wave
by Sid de Knees
I did not expect that!
There was one to the left, one to the right,
there I was caught in a horrible fight.
Pushing and
Flashes of the future come:
Scourging whips and lashing tongues.
Betrayal from a cherished friend,
where will all the heartache
by Carol Gioia
Weary and downtrodden,
feeling powerless,
beaten by the odds,
overcome with stress.
Thwarted by limitations,
succumbing to frustration,
