You seek my shoulder's solace
Swept asea in a storm of teardrops
I will be your port of refuge
Direct you towards where the suffering stops
Consult my thoroughly storied past
I will regale you with tales of despair
Once my broad shoulder weakens
I will offer forth my equally comforting spare
When pain knocks on your door
For the umpteenth time this year
I will loan you a shoulder to cry on
With words unspoken, bend my ear
Whatever it happens to take
I promise to help you cope
I will pick you up from the doldrums
Give you a spirited shot of hope
I will listen with sympathetic ears
When your heart gets broken
If you need a shoulder to cry on
My love is your unlimited token
I will offer soft and sweet advice
Do my best not to judge
Once you clasp onto my shoulder
I promise not to budge
Immerse yourself in a catharsis
A cleansing purging of emotions
Time will once again swoop in to help
Provide you with unforeseen notions
The heart is a fickle little organ
Can cause you a severe heartache
Its beat will continue to pulsate
Love can cause your whole world to quake
Whenever you need me
I will always be there
I am your shoulder to cry on
A good friend is indeed rare
I may not be your first choice
Help comes in a multitude of sizes
I will be whatever you need me to be
To the top the cream always rises
Your heart gets broken
In dire need of a mend
With words left unsaid
I am your best friend
Drape my shoulder with tears
I will at no time flinch
I will assuage your deepest fears
I am whatever you need in a pinch
Life can sometimes be a tangled mess
A rock stems from a suffered boulder
Psychologists are expensive, I charge far less
My expressions will be much less colder
Let your heart melt into my soul
Inside me your safety is guaranteed
When down your cheeks teardrops begin to roll
I will be your best friend indeed
I will show you what a gem you are
With the utmost of complete sincerity
When the chips are really down
A shoulder to cry on is sometimes a rarity

Ever attentive without casting stones,
you've been so supportive when I'm all alone.

Here's my shoulder to cry on when in need
Tuck yourself safely underneath my wing
Lean on me and I'll try to understand
And
Mary winces from the force of a contemptuous stare
Privileged eyes neither compassionate nor aware
No one sees the devastation
A shoulder to cry on is what I will offer you...forever
You live far away, our paths no longer cross, however, you know that
I will give you a shoulder to cry on,
A shoulder that's firm to your touch,
A friend you can love and rely on,
When everything's
