DESIRES FOR MY SOUL
A flattering tongue with new face sings to my flesh..which doesn't long for song.
The longing is in my heart..and it is but an ember & bold praises
can not light a fire so early with me..nor in me.
I need a friend of my mind
to harvest pieces of me
to put them in order..when I have left them scattered about.
I need something as I have never had before.
Someone to really get me.
Someone to really want to look deeper into
the parts of me left untouched.
Yesterday was for flesh & making babies.
playing house, and going crazy.
Making grocery lists and trips to the store..
never finding on the shelves there..
what my soul was longing for.
It isn't for sale.
without it..it's likened to hell.
You must touch my being..
my spirit..I need you to make it soar so high.
I need to know such truth again.
For once before..
my life was wrought with lies.
Of course I will never believe a single word you say.
It's like that you know..
the aftermath from a former one that betrayed.
But if you will..
Sing me a love song. Strum me a tune.
Hold me and kiss me while we gaze at the moon.
Here in the twilight until we see dawn.
Well be here together until the night's gone.
Promise me forever and say you love me best.
Then put all these doubts finally to rest.
Then it will be us who is happy and free.
And this is what I'd give you since you gave to me.
I'll sing you a love song, I'll strum you a tune.
I'll hold you and kiss you while we gaze at the moon.
It will be true in twilight. It will be true at dawn.
I'll be here forever even after the night is gone.
I'll take a chance and say I love you best.
Then both of our doubts finally put to rest.
You and me will be happy and free...singing our love songs,
strumming our tunes.
In love forever while we gaze at the moon.
Then perhaps a flattering of the tongue singing to my flesh..
will be something I long for at best.
And the ember will be a consuming fire
once you have passed the test...
the spark of desire that lights the fire within me..
and finally lead my heart to rest.

Scared To Say
One more day passes slowly
And another hour dies
I rest my head in my hands
And wait
Time stops
And I wonder why
I'm
As the sun slowly sets, I face another cold and lonely night
He gets all slicked up, out the door he goes and soon his truck

He was dangerous
Like a loose cannon
Says he's going to get on his feet
but I never saw him standin'
He spills viscous words

Love is the rain.
A light haze settling on tropical skin,
Gently soaking through clothing
Leaving a clammy,
Hot aftermath.
Love
THE GREAT PRETENDER
Tonight I must pretend you don't matter.
Tonight I must momentarily dismiss all these torturous thoughts
