Poetry: Being overwhelmed

CONFLICT THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD

Seems no matter where you look today
Conflicts keep peace far away

The child, who's lost Mom and Dad
Living in conditions very bad

Gun shots fired overhead
Over religion and region, many dead

The adults of the world, just can't agree
What is best for them and me

They teach us kids to get along
So, why is the world going wrong

Some so wealthy, locked in greed
Don't any of the poor they see

Would it hurt to share a bit
Just enough to feed some kids

What is the color of me and you
Would it really matter if I were blue

Long as you care for me, me for you
Feelings from the heart, ought to do

Discord inside you and me
Problems there will surely be

If the simple you can't solve
The worlds in trouble, is my call

All so different that we are
But aren't we all shining stars

Giving off a glow of light
Guiding another through the night

So adults, take your place
Help preserve our human race

Make the world a better place
Fill my world with love
