Untamed horses in their glory,
such a beauty we do behold;
wild and free until captured,
some young and some are old.
Horses of many colors,
galloping among every breed;
hoping to sustain their freedom,
and to multiply their seed.
Their beauty puts us in awe,
their grace amazes most;
if only their leader could talk,
surely, he would boast.
How awesome is their beauty,
as they continue their dance;
wild and free they're prancing,
with the beauty of romance.
As the leader boldly guides them,
hoping to guide them to a safe place;
that's only shared by other breeds,
not invaded by the human race.
Angered by human intruders,
they put up a heated fight;
taking away their freedom,
never seems to be right.
As their bold heads rise up,
hooves waving in the air;
trying hard to avoid humans,
running far away from there.
Wild and free upon the mountains,
hiding in the valleys below;
wanting freedom to gallop,
few places left to go.
Their beauty is a wonder,
their grace and stance amaze;
hiding high above to watch them,
sometimes gazing for many days.
Wild, free and seldom tame,
even whisperers do not apply;
for some wild horses stay that way,
until the day they die.
Sometimes they gallop so fast,
they appear as a flash of light;
if their land is ever taken away,
this just would not be right.
Animals of many kinds,
are lacking in places to go;
if man would only leave them alone,
they would have their space to grow

Horses
by Debbie Robus
I watch from my window each evening at dusk
As the herons fly home to their roost
They come one by one - or sometimes in flocks
O'er
I long to run wild and free to chase rainbows,
to be infused with all life's goodness,
to have blessings chase me and
I know what you see when you see me,
A creature to keep in captivity
So, you wish to abduct me,
And hold me hostage indefinitely
Encounter
Light and dark at play
across the dappled water
I hear the frost break
underfoot, like glass
Horned and hooved,
