The ballroom fills as lords and ladies enter.
Formality at its best.
First a bow.
Followed by a curtsy.
Hand in hand the dance commences.
A dance society has taught them well.
A stolen glance at each other.

Dressed like royalty they glide.
Captivating envy from their synchronized movements.
A ring of spectators is fashioned.
They are alone in the center.
One final twirl.
One last step.
Flushed and lightheaded.
The dance is finished.
Applause has erupted.
