Such difficult times, with rest out of reach,
There's nothing more needed than a day at the beach.
It's waves, it's wonder, "It's a must," you beseech,
You're insisting, cajoling, you're a friend, you're a peach.
The wind in my hair, the sand on my feet,
The salt of the air - it's all there to greet,
I step from the norm to a place such a treat,
It's off with my shirt as I take nature's seat.
I have just left behind all that stuff that was there,
Escape I have made on a whim, on a dare,
I suddenly know this feeling is rare,
No matter what was, it just cannot compare.
It's always been here, I can come when I may,
But caught up I have been in my work and my pay,
Thank you, my friend, my words cannot say,
What I sense since you brought me to the beach on this day.

Wake up to the day
checking my clock
and oh my goodness
almost died of shock!
Slept in too darned late

I want to spend a day at the beach,
building tall castles in the white sand.
I want to gather colorful seashells,
hold them
