Don't Forget The Make-up...

The lip-gloss and eyeliner are piled on in this show. Oh, I wasn't talking about the bevy of half-naked women, I was referring to Bret Michaels. One time glam "God" as lead singer of Poison (named after an elixir one would love to digest after listening to their "music").. It's often difficult to tell Mr. Michaels apart from his slew of orange faced lasses. False eyelashes, peroxide and silicone do not only apply to the females!

My Secret Is Revealed

I hate to admit it, but I am becoming a reality TV show junkie - yes, I am one of those people who come home from work mentally exhausted and need to turn off and get mindless Introducing, Bret Michaels Rock of Love Season One. For mindless fun, this is an A++. I enjoyed this brainless drivel so much that I faithfully viewed the subsequent seasons (Don't tell anyone, but I have it auto tuned on my television).

The Show

Rock of Love was all that I hoped it would be, an over-sexed, aging rocker looking to find "love" from a bevy of scantily clad, peroxide-addicted, over-sexed rock chicks.

The premise is just as I stated rocker + love, but the antics are what make this show worth watching. It's a typical show of this genre, Flavor did it, New York did it now Bret Michaels has done it and they never lose their appeal if you like to turn off and tune in. Week by week, the girls get drunk, get naked, flirt with Bret, perform stupid challenges all ending with an elimination where the sobbing girl is told: "Your tour ends here" - followed backstage by: "Please put your clothes on"... Many of these young "ladies" were probably in diapers when Bret rocked the world with hits such as "Unskinny Bop" (no, stop laughing, that really WAS the title of one of their hits - explains a lot!), and are only on this show for "face-time" (if you can find their faces under the stucco).

Do I think that the gorgeously pouty Bret Michaels is actually looking for love? No! Why? Because he is a has been rocker who needs some publicity to revamp his career! He comes across as a chauvinistic, man-slut, but he always talks to the "ladies" with a respectful tone as he stares at their chest! I guess these "chicks" like that and faun over him as if he were a God. I think the producer is standing behind our handsome stud muffin with a fat wad of cash, waving it at the girls! Backstabbing, cat-fights, lying and scandal fill each episode making this show a must view, and as a woman, I enjoyed it too - those poor girls, I hope they don't buy this DVD...

The Outcome

Eventually Bret has the heart wrenching decision to make - which girl shall he choose to be his "Rock of Love"? Tears welling, hands shaking, he makes his final decision... He chooses.... Don't be silly, watch it and find out for yourself! Very fun and entertaining show, albeit sexist and narcissistic! I would love to delve into the plot and social commentary brought forth in his show, but honestly, I have nothing. Watch it it's so pathetic that it's great TV!
