Let's be real, everyone, everywhere, has had an embarrassing moment at one time or another. It doesn't matter if your a blue collared worker, an executive to a large company, a preacher, or even the President of the United States. (Thank God, ours haven't been televised)
At almost every stage of your life I'm sure you had something happen to you that made you say,"That was the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me." When I was a kid, I remember being in gym class, and I stood up to participate in what ever game we were playing, and I was out of turn, the girl behind me pulled on my gym shorts in a gesture to tell me to sit down, well I'm sure you can guess what happened next; my shorts came down. There I stood in my Thursday panties, on Tuesday. At that stage of my life I thought, I will never go to gym again. At that age, that was the most embarrassing moment of my life. Well life moved on and I got over that embarrassing moment, always with the thought of it in the back of my mind. Well, as life would have it other events happened that made me say the same thing over, and over again, you know the moments that make you say, "Oh Lord, I have never been so embarrassed in all my life."
As time went on, the Thursday panties went further and further to the back of my mind, as many more different embarrassing things happened to me. I have said that "most embarrassing" phrase over, and over, and over again. But I must admit that some of my most exceptionally embarrassing moments have been when I worked for the post office in Florida. I delivered packages to old woman in sexy nighty's, I had been chased through a field by a "watch Pig," yes, a Pig. I was so embarrassed to have to tell my supervisor why the customer didn't get their certified mail. He laughed at my expense, and said,"thats what you get for being a Yankee girl, you should be embarrassed." (Gee Thanks) but by far my most, and I mean most embarrassing moment in all my life happened while I was working delivering mail, and packages, on my regular route. The route that I worked day in and day out.
It started out like many other Florida days, with the sun shining, a warm breeze blowing, the only thing that stunk was that I had to work on my birthday. I went to work, then I went out on my route, and I had about two or three large packages for a customer that received packages on a regular bases. On this day he was getting packages that could not be left at the door, meaning he had to sign for them. Well I went to the door as I did on several other occasions, Mr. Pebbles answered the door, I told him he had more then one package. I retrieved them out of my vehicle, Mr. Pebbles was standing at the door waiting for the paperwork, I handed it to him, I handed him a pen, and with that the dog came running for the door. A gust of wind blew as Mr. Pebbles lost control of the door, the dog, the package, the paperwork, and the robe he was wearing, and thats all he was wearing. I was so embarrassed, what do you do in a situation like that? Well, we both turned beet red, I picked up the paperwork and the pen, Mr. Pebbles signed on the X, and apologized. Feeling as though I had to say something in response, I replied out of embarrassment, and nervousness, " Oh, its o.k. Mr. Pebbles, now I know were little Pebbles come from." What was I thinking! That evening after work my husband asked me how my day went, and if I had enjoyed my birthday. I was to embarrassed at the time to tell him what had happened, but I thought to myself, its sure is a birthday I won't soon forget.
