Poetry: Locked out your heart

Slamming the door, shutting out my heart,

Turning the lock, throwing away the key,

You hear me, but you don't listen.

Fear grips you, but you won't admit it.

Freezing your emotions, protecting your pride,

Getting close, but keeping your distance.

You look into my eyes, you listen,

Then you turn your back and walk away,

Confusion and guessing games, it's so unfair.

I want to know you, I want to care.

Let down your guard and set yourself free.

Can't you see how difficult you can be?

Locked out of your heart I am so lost, so helpless,

Please, please let me in, help me understand,

Break the locks, let loose the chains,

Set your thoughts aside, your fears, your worries,

Let your heart do the talking,

My heart is yours for the taking.
