Poetry: Puddles

A Challenge to Zeus

The sky blackened with Zeus's anger
as he boastfully rumbled and roared.
I shook my fist forcefully playing my hand.

And the tussle betwixt myth and mortal began.

He sent down a mighty electrical zap
which straight away hit me below my back.

I foolishly flung such raucous retorts
the neighborhood fearfully flew indoors.

Zeus vicious voice vibrated the heavens.
I dodged a deluge of his drippy malevolence.
The myth's mighty hand gripped a watery cloud
which he twisted and wrung to release all it had.
My shelter proved to be of no purpose
as it leaked the waters down on my person.

Soaked and downtrodden, I finally cowered
flinging my body under whatever covered.
Thence Zeus release victorious laughter

and squeezed one more to feed his humor.

His day of proving his preponderance of power
finally finished he flew off to another.

I gazed determinedly at the skies
plotting my revenge on that awful guy.I plunged my feet into the puddles.
kicking and spraying the muddy soup
defying that childish Greek god Zeus.
