All Helium writers should strive for high quality. A high quality article is one that is thorough, organized, free of grammar, spelling, and punctuation mistakes, and, most importantly, well-developed. Here are some simple ways that will help you produce a high quality article that is indicative of Helium's good reputation.
Organize
Organizatio n in an article is helpful in a variety of ways. First, it makes for a "good flow" of reading. This means that your readers will be able to better understand what your topic or argument is without having to search for it. Next, organization also shows your thought process. It allows you to think as if you were writing an outline, which means you will be better able to find points that you may have ignored or points that aren't relevant to your topic.
Research
Research is especially important if you are writing an article that has a specific topic. For instance, if you are writing a biography on Napoleon, it is necessary for you to find some secondary sources (such as online encyclopedias). Otherwise, you won't have much to write about if you are writing from the top of your head. It is also vital for the Helium writer to learn how to do proper citations. Because plagiarism is rampant, especially in the online community, Helium writers must strive to keep Helium's well-deserved good reputation by knowing how to cite properly and when. The research that you do must also result in informational sources that are credible. Do not just randomly visit websites and find one piece of information that you like, then copy and paste. Read through all information carefully, and cite evidence (enjamb your quotations) within your work so that you can avoid plagiarism.
Complete information
Before you click the "Submit" button, be sure to look back at your article, read it once or twice, and think about any other information you may have missed. Read and re-read the topic or title of the article. Have you answered all the questions? Have you defined all the words needing definitions? For instance, if you were writing a product review about a microdermabrasion tool, you might want to define what microdermabrasion is first. If you haven't, your reader might not want to read the rest of the review.
So, if you want to thoroughly develop your Helium articles, remember that you must first know what topic you are writing about. Then, start organizing your thoughts clearly, start your research for credible sources if necessary, and last but not least, make sure that your information is complete.
