A friend is someone who walks in, when the whole world has walked out...
The Australian Oxford Pocket Dictionary defines 'friendship' as a friendly relationship or feeling. A 'friend' is then defined as a person one likes and chooses to spend time with (usually without sexual or family bonds). Everyone needs a friend in life. You don't need to have thousands of friends, just one special person whom you have faith in, love and cherish, is all you need. Friends help us through life. They give you a shoulder to sob on, if life feels like it as swung the wrong way, and if they are that special to you, they will more often than not, cry with you.... If one day you feel like running away, they won't stop you, but maybe run with you... Friends support you. If you decide that your sexuality isn't that of a heterosexual, true friends will stick by your side...
Being bullied is a horrible thing happening in school all around the world and nobody likes it. Usually bullies target because they are jealous of you. If your friends are true friends, they will fight you through it. I was bullied, and when I thought I had absolutely no friends at all, it was amazing what my friends did for me when I left the state. They set up a surprise party for me, bought me gifts, made me a scrap book of all our funny times, and will never let me forget the stupid things I have done throughout my life. So if ever you feel like you have no friends, don't think like that-look at it in a different light; My friends love me, and they help me through life. Without friends, you could forget your embarrassing moments in life, lock all your wonderful and best memories up inside you, and never see the true beauty of people. True friends will help you, stick by your side, and see you for who you are inside, not for your appearance.
A good friendship will last a lifetime. Let old friends know you still love them, and welcome new friends with open arms. The best gift one can have, is a friend......
