Expressions of Love
Do not neglect the words and thoughtful gift.
Love roots in soil made rich with kindest thought.
Deny the fear of jealousy and sift
Your mind for presents not with money bought.
It's not the thing expected by the date
Of birth which mandates gift or greeting card.
It's not the calendar that gives the moment weight.
It's memories shared and private moments starred.
Protect your love and lover with your might.
Let no intruder cast the slightest doubt
That your love lasts each day and every night
And anchors deep and soars like brightest kite.
Be gracious to the other in all things.
Together taste the honey, share the stings.
