Dr. Maya Angelou said this about women and aging, "the surface, the superficial, the way one looks has become valued too highly in our society. Here's the real question: What do we have to do to place more value on age? We have to value ourselves not for what we look like or the things we possess but for the women we are. The most important thing I can tell you about aging is this: If you really feel that you want to have an off-the-shoulder blouse and some big beads and thong sandals and a dirndl skirt and a magnolia in your hair, do it. Even if you're wrinkled."
That is the woman of the future. She shall be heedless of what is "expected of her" and mindful of what she expects of herself. She shall have come to the understanding that she is a reflection of that which resides within her rather than the cosmetic clothing of vanity, beauty, or possessions. What lies within her, compassion, empathy, wisdom, truth and knowing are what makes her beautiful not only the inside but emanates on the outside as well.
It would seem that being "Hot" is the new catch phrase or word for how a woman is perceived when at her finest. Would that term apply to the woman of the future? How one exudes sexuality and sensuality, regardless of age, is only measured by how one feels about themselves. If you feel "hot" or sexy, that is going to translate to others. Who could argue with the obvious sexiness and sensuality of women like Sophia Lauren, Jacqueline Bisset or Susan Sarandon.
The woman of the future will find her value which is rooted in the knowledge that she has become a person of substance based on her life experience and the lessons she has discerned from her personal journey. She is empowered by her benevolence, her strength and her humanity. She is not uni-dimensional but multi-faceted, unifying her mind, body and spirit. Every aspect of her life will have transcended, manifesting itself through the health and wellness of her entirety. Feed yourself all of the good that the world has to offer, be kind, giving and humble. Eat well, sleep well, live well. When a woman follows those simple steps her biological age will be of no consideration as she will emanate an attitude and appearance of graceful and dignified timelessness. Her wisdom will have been gleaned from the immeasurable and unfathomable suffering of women who came before her. The incredible bravery, conviction, courage and tenacity of her fore-mothers are embedded in her very being and bring to her the ability to believe in all that she is now.
