My first day at the beach
You could have seen me
Like a kid in a candy store
Running the length of the sea
It wouldn't have been magic
If I'd been there before.
I don't know what I may have
Seen as a child
But I closed my eyes, sniffed the air
Let my imagination run wild.
I lay down on the sand
Grabbed every wave that came there.
I stood and I wondered
At the majestic around
And the sound of the conch at my ear
Was like surround sound.
A song burst from my heart but I did not sing aloud
The one deep inside was only for the Gods to hear.
The break of a virgin is a sensitive breach
And I'll never forget my first time
At the beach.
