Humorous real estate stories

We surely understand and appreciate the economy is tight. Who doesn't! And for hard-working real estate agents, they either have a feast or a famine, depending on their sales commission. And, sadly, in most places, these agents are having a hard time of it. We hope this will be temporary.

My husband and I were planning to sell our place and move to a fixer-upper (after it was fixed, of course). In our family we have some talented trades people. Two are carpenters, one is an electrician and my huband was a pipefitter and knew quite a bit about plumbing and most things to do with pipes.

With all the family willing to help us out, it was a good time to begin searching. So, we went online and found an agent in the area we wanted to move to. His name was Frank. Frank was a nice enough old soul, being about 60 years old, but like most agents, very anxious to complete a sale as quickly as possible. Too anxious, in fact. But, by the grace of God, we decided if we were in his shoes, we could totally understand.

We were not in a hurry and wanted to look at more than a few fixer-uppers in order to get the best deal. Well, every day we would get a phone call from our friend Frank with a "hot deal" to look at. When we would have conversation about other things, he never stuttered. At first, we thought he just might have been nervous. He had a good sense of humor and we liked him.

Being easy going people, we never embarrassed him with truths we would find out along the way. He did challenge our trust level, somewhat, but his eager and hard-working spirit would end up carrying the day.

On the last call we took from Frank, he says, "This place is perfect for you guys. I'm positive. It has an acre of land, just like you want. Its easy to show and its not too far from public transportation." We said, "OK, Frank, we will look at it at noon time on Saturday."

We met with Frank at the office and he drove ahead of us to lead the way. When we got there, at first glance, we said out loud, "Frank is telling the truth...this place looks like it will fit our needs." The old-fashioned Victorian house even sat on a hill, much to my delight!

Frank jumped out of his car and hurried over to our's and before we could exit the car, he says, "Ah...re-re-re remember, this is the best de-de-de-deal you will ever ge-ge-get. The price is within your bud-bud-budget and the owner needs to
