Bank checking account reviews: Wachovia

you only have to maintain $1,000 balance and you must be 50 years of age or older. If your account goes below the $1,000 balance you will have to pay a $20 fee each month you are below that minimum balance.

Crown Select Banking

Crown Select also includes everything Crown Banking does except it is designed for those that maintain a higher balance. The minimum balance for Crown Select is $10,000. If you go below this minimum balance, you must pay a $25 monthly fee.

Savings Accounts

Savings accounts vary depending upon where you live. You will have to go to the website and enter in your zip code to determine what is available to you.

Way2Save

Wachovia brings you an option to encourage you to save. For every check card transaction, online bill pay, or automatic debits, Wachovia will transfer $1 from your checking account to your Way2Save savings account. They will only transfer up to $100 per month. In the first year they will give you a guarantee of 5.00% APY and a 5% bonus on what you have saved.

No matter what account type you choose, Wachovia has been a good bank to bank with. Just be careful of sharing an account with someone else. It is a policy that each person on the account is a primary so if they overdraw in another account you will be liable as well.

Wachovia has locations in twenty-two states in the United States. The staff at Wachovia has always been polite and very pleasant to speak with, even during a frustrating time. The staff seem to really care about what is best for you financially and are eager to help you to the best of their ability. Be sure to check out their website at http://www.wachovia.com to locate a branch near you. You can also call 1- 800-WACHOVIA to speak to a financial advisor 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
