Oh what a marvelous day it will be,
when I feel the sand beneath my feet.
The waves on the ocean,
swarming in as a fleet of horses.
laying down and soaking in the heat of the sun.
I close my eyes, the color of rose madder fills my lids,
all the while sand castles are being built by my kids.
Stepping into the ocean for the first dip,
my heart beat begins to skip.
There's another world beneath my feet,
where sand and shells come to meet.
I dip and taste the salt of the sea,
between to worlds, I will be.
I shudder to think of the time that will come,
when I have to leave and go back to the world that I am from.
